In a slim 84 pages, Donovan offers us the opportunity to "claim our divine birth rite to have a life of peace, joy, happiness, excitement, health, love, prosperity, fun, passion and abundance." As I read Reclaim Your Life, I revisited most of the themes of my own self-help book, Climb your Stairway to Heaven: the 9 habits of maximum happiness.
I found myself nodding my head to the beat. No, I haven't switched to a music review -- books have beats, too. The good ones, the ones that help reveal the truths we hold inside, often cause our heads to nod to their beats.
Some of the beats included messages on positive thinking, self-improvement, lifelong learning, self-esteem, the art of giving, commitment, courage, success, self-confidence, and much more. Let me leave you with one "beat" that caused my head to nod:
Haven't we all been there, postponing something we know will make our lives happier? The key to self-actualization is to start doing what brings happiness and meaning, and that is a major point Donovan makes.
If you are serious about bringing more joy and happiness into your daily life and succeeding at what you want most, I recommend Reclaim Your Life for light, but serious, reading.
